Sometimes the world gets out of balance. Anger, depression, or stress may rise up. Something might not feel right.  Change needs to happen, but what and how? Counselling may help bring awareness and build useful action towards a different future. New perspectives may be found that lead to greater clarity. Learning to cope could help to smooth out the bumps of life.

About Me

I am a private practice counsellor and school counsellor with over 8 years of experience. In private practice I focus mostly on working with adults and a few youth 13+. Creativity and spontaneity infuse my work. I like to incorporate ways to tap into the non-verbal- a painting exercise or a sand tray scene. I am an ideas person that will get you thinking about your life in different ways. I want to help you to actively transform your life through exploration in session in learning to think differently. Then in between sessions I set you up to test out changes, as your life actually plays out.

My Approach

My approach combines gaining wisdom from the past, grounding in the present and envisioning the future in order to move toward change. I believe the process is as important as the goal. I incorporate Adlerian ideas as well as practical Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques to help you build your skill at navigating life. I bring in creative processes to help you expand beyond words.

The Office

Services

I work with adults and youth 13+. I specialize in life transitions, anxiety, depression, career, parenting, anger management, emotion  regulation, LGBTQ2 and behaviour.  I use a variety of techniques including talk therapy, art therapy, skill building and practice, mindfulness, play therapy, and sandtray. I believe that the most effective counselling combines in-session exploration and between session practice. Integrating new knowledge outside of the counselling room can solidify and inform the shift of everyday life. Every person is uniquely individual and I tailor sessions to meet with your own approach and comfort level.
