About Me

I am intrigued by helping people navigate their own stories and build the life they want. I have been in private practice since 2019. I also work in the school system with inner city kids and youth as a counsellor. My previous experience includes working as a counselling intern in university student services and as a parenting group facilitator and LGBTQ2 facilitator.

I love nature, travel, and being active. I love ideas, making things and making things happen. I love people in all their complexities and how we navigate the world. I love exploration of what’s inside us, what’s beside us, all around us and beyond us.

My Approach

My approach combines gaining wisdom from the past, grounding in the present and envisioning the future in order to facilitate and collaborate toward change. I believe the process is as important as the goal. Finding a counsellor that fits with your own approach is essential in creating an experience that feels meaningful and purposeful. I incorporate Adlerian, narrative, constructivist, solution focused and person centered ideas to the counselling experience.

I work with adults and youth 13+. I specialize in life transitions, anxiety, depression, career, parenting, fertility, anger management, emotion  regulation, LGBTQ2 and behaviour.  I use a variety of techniques including talk therapy, art therapy, skill building and practice, mindfulness, play therapy, and sandtray. I believe that the most effective counselling combines in-session exploration and between session practice. Integrating new knowledge outside of the counselling room can solidify and inform the shift of everyday life. Sometimes with youth it can be helpful to work with both parent and youth. Every adult and youth is uniquely individual and I tailor sessions to meet with your own approach and comfort level.
